Familientag Poster

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly influencing our everyday lives. But do you know what AI actually is, how it works, and where it is already used or might be applied in the future?

Visit Family Day as part of the Aachen AI Week and experience interactive workshops, exciting experiments, demos, and much more. This event aims to raise awareness of AI and promote public understanding.

Family Day is aimed at all interested people – regardless of their prior knowledge of AI – from diverse backgrounds and age groups, from complete beginners to experts. Various research groups and institutes of RWTH as well as partner organizations will present their work at the Fireplace (Theaterstr. 17). Interactive workshops on AI will be offered at various locations. Selected laboratories at RWTH will open their doors to the public – a unique opportunity to gain insight into cutting-edge research in the field of Artificial Intelligence at RWTH. In addition, the Discovery Museum will present a science show at the OecherLab (several sessions) to give a preview of their new AI exhibition.

All activities are free of charge, but some require prior registration (e.g., lab tours and workshops).

Participation pays off!

Take part in the big AI treasure hunt, collect stamps at each station and win prizes for the whole family.
More details about the competition will follow shortly.

Experiencing AI

AI Experience World

3:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Location: Fireplace, Theaterstraße 17, 52062 Aachen

Experience AI hands-on and try it out. There's something here for everyone.

Here are some examples:

  • Touch table exhibit "AI.Worlds": The interactive exhibit offers an exploratory overview of the application possibilities of AI. Users can click through a virtual environment and discover areas of AI application playfully.
  • Audio demo "Manipulation of Classification": This interactive demo shows how the classification of audio recordings of animal voices and music can be distorted by an imperceptible filter (adversarial attack).
  • Mini-workshop "Robot Programming": In this short workshop, children will have the opportunity to learn how to program robots from international artist Daniel Simu (more information here). The workshops will take place several times (see notice on-site), no registration required, max. 9 children per workshop.

The exhibits, activities, and demos are aimed at interested individuals of all age groups. No registration is required.
